Note:

1. Undergraduate applicants should apply online. No paper documents need to be mailed.

2. The program is 4 years in duration. Students who complete the required credits and pass the graduation thesis as required will be awarded a graduation certificate and a bachelor's degree. The mode of study is full-time.

I. Program Introduction

This is a 4-year full-time joint program offered by University of Science and Technology Beijing (USTB) and Beijing Language and Culture University (BLCU) for international students. Leveraging the strengths of both universities, the program cultivates compound talents proficient in both Chinese language and artificial intelligence (AI) professional skills. During the first 1–2 years, students study Chinese language and AI foundation courses at BLCU, and spend the following 2 years deepening their AI professional courses at USTB.

II. Eligibility

1. Applicants must be non-Chinese citizens holding a foreign passport who are physically and mentally healthy, of good moral character, and possess the required academic qualifications and Chinese language proficiency.

2. Applicants must comply with the "442" policy for international students coming to China: they shall hold a valid foreign passport or nationality certificate for no less than 4 years, and have accumulated no less than 2 years of actual overseas residence within the most recent 4 years as of April 30 of the admission year. 3. Applicants for undergraduate programs should generally be 35 years old or below, hold a high school diploma or equivalent, and pass the academic proficiency test for undergraduate admission for international students studying in China.

Note: 1. As the number of rooms in the on-campus international student dormitories is limited, students who fail to obtain on-campus accommodation must arrange off-campus housing on their own;

2. According to the regulations of the Ministry of Education of China, international students studying in China must purchase medical insurance in China. Students may purchase it online on the day of enrollment and registration. Otherwise, the university will not process their registration.

VI. Application Materials

2. High school diploma, which must be the original or notarized copy in Chinese or English;

3. Official high school transcript, which must be the original or notarized copy in Chinese or English;

4. Photocopy of the passport, which must be a valid ordinary passport;

5. Language proficiency: an HSK test score report is sufficient.

6. Health certificate: Foreigner Physical Examination Form

7. Financial guarantee: Letter of Financial Guarantee (USTB)

8. Certificate of no criminal record;

VII. Admission Results

The International Students Center will announce the admission list at the end of June and send the electronic admission notice, JW202 form and other materials via the official email (admission@ustb.edu.cn) in July.

Note: All admission materials are electronic scanned copies, which can be used to apply for a visa at Chinese embassies or consulates abroad. Paper originals can be collected upon arrival and registration on campus.

VIII. Enrollment Date

Enrollment generally takes place in early September each year, with the specific date as stated in the Admission Notice and the official email (admission@ustb.edu.cn). Admitted students must strictly follow the time specified in the Admission Notice to complete the enrollment and registration procedures at USTB.

When newly admitted students report on campus, they must bring the original high school diploma for re-verification of admission qualifications.

IX. Accommodation Registration

1. International students living in on-campus dormitories should complete the registration procedures with the public security authorities at the dormitory service desk.

2. International students renting accommodation off campus must personally complete the registration procedures with the local public security authorities within 24 hours.

X. Visa

Admitted students must go to a Chinese embassy with the Admission Notice and the Study Visa Application Form (JW201/JW202) to apply for a study visa (X1 visa). Within 30 days of arrival in China, they must go to the International Students Center to convert the X1 visa into a study residence permit.
