USTB Holds Acceptance Review Meeting for MOOC Production Services of Its International Student Course Development Project
On the afternoon of November 19, 2025, the International Student Center organized and held the Acceptance Review Meeting for MOOC Production Services under the 2023 USTB International Student Course Development Project. Professor Xiao Ruoxiu, Deputy Director of the Department of Internet of Things and Electronic Engineering, School of Computer and Communication Engineering; Professor Zheng Xinqi from the School of Materials Science and Engineering; and Professor Dou Haibo from the School of Physical Education were invited to serve as acceptance review experts and to comprehensively evaluate and provide guidance on the MOOC development outcomes. The meeting was chaired by Zhang Hu, Deputy Director of the International Student Center. Key members of the project team and representatives from the MOOC production company attended.
At the beginning of the meeting, Zhang Hu extended a warm welcome to the three experts and briefly introduced the background and objectives of the project. He noted that this MOOC development project is an important initiative by USTB in response to the national “Study in China” brand strategy and in optimizing the training system for international students in China. It aims to develop high-quality course resources that integrate an international perspective with Chinese characteristics through digital means, so as to provide international students in China with a more flexible and efficient learning experience.

During the review session, the three experts conducted a detailed assessment of the MOOC’s content design, technical implementation, teaching effectiveness, and international applicability by listening to reports, reviewing materials, and viewing course excerpts. After in-depth discussion, the review panel unanimously agreed that the project outcomes had generally met the expected objectives, that the course content was scientifically rigorous, and that the technical implementation was stable and reliable, in line with international online course standards. The panel therefore approved the acceptance of the project. At the same time, the experts put forward constructive suggestions for the later promotion and application of the courses. They recommended that the supplier further strengthen training for course instructors on how to use the courses, improve the “intelligent assisted evaluation” function module, refine the after-sales service content, and provide solid support for the courses’ launch and operation. They also suggested that the relevant course leaders strengthen the application of the project, provide timely feedback on any issues, and work with the supplier to further supplement, revise, and optimize the courses.

In his concluding remarks, Deputy Director Zhang Hu said that the Center will fully incorporate the experts’ suggestions, continue to improve the course resources, and, building on the outcomes of this project, drive the digital and intelligent transformation and upgrading of international student education in China. He emphasized that USTB will continue to deepen cooperation with the international education community and contribute educational wisdom to building a community with a shared future for mankind.

The successful holding of this review meeting marks a solid step forward by the International Student Center in the field of international student course development in China and has injected new momentum into enhancing the university’s level of internationalization. Taking this acceptance review as an opportunity, the Center will continue to optimize its curriculum system and build a more competitive brand for international student education in China.
