Recently, the China Education Association for International Exchange (CEAIE) announced the first batch of recommended excellent courses on national conditions education for international students in China and social practice activity bases for Chinese and foreign youth. The university's "Steel-and-Iron Character" National Conditions Education Base for Industry-Specialized Universities was one of the five recommended bases in Beijing.

The Reinforced Steel National Conditions Education Base for Industry-Featured Universities is developed by the University of Science and Technology Beijing (USTB). Rooted in the spirit of General Secretary Xi Jinping’s two important replies to the university and built upon its distinctive background in the steel industry, it integrates physical venues with national conditions education courses, combining industrial insight and national conditions education to form a distinctive comprehensive national conditions education base.

The university co-initiated the establishment of the New Era Universities' "Steel Ideological and Political Education" Alliance and held its preparatory meeting.

To implement the Ministry of Education's "Project of Forging Souls for New Generations of the Times" and promote the quality improvement of talent cultivation and ideological and political work in industry-oriented universities, the University of Science and Technology Beijing (USTB) took the lead and, together with 21 high-level industry universities, research institutes, and enterprises, jointly initiated the establishment of the New Era Universities' "Steel Ideological and Political Education" Alliance, striving to create a distinctive new model of "Steel Ideological and Political Education."

The base aims to promote national conditions education in industry-specialized universities. With the university's International Student Center and the Research Center for Science, Technology and Civilization and Chinese-Foreign Humanities Exchange as bridges, it has formed a practical education and teaching platform featuring rich practice content, diverse systems, and well-ordered levels. It can carry out social practice activities for Chinese and foreign youth at national key laboratories, national technology innovation centers, national engineering (technology) research centers, international cooperation bases, and other venues.

The university being recommended as one of the first batch of national-level social practice activity bases for Chinese and foreign youth is of great significance. The base will uphold the concept of tempering a steel-like will, give full play to its distinctive advantages, guide international students in China to explore in depth and truly experience a real, multi-dimensional, and panoramic China, and, through what they see and hear, vividly tell China's story and clearly convey China's voice, contributing USTB wisdom and strength to enhancing international influence.
