I. Eligible Applicants

New international students applying for preparatory programs, undergraduate, master’s, and doctoral programs.

II. Scholarship Coverage

Type A (Full Scholarship): Tuition fee, on-campus accommodation, living stipend, and comprehensive medical insurance.

Type B & Type C (Partial Scholarship): One or several items of the above.

III. Eligibility Requirements

1.Non-Chinese citizens in good health.

2.Preparatory Program Students:

Age ≤ 24 at enrollment; minimum HSK Level 3.

3.Undergraduate Students:

Age ≤ 25 at enrollment.

Chinese-taught programs: minimum HSK Level 4.

English-taught programs: valid official English proficiency certificate.

4.Master’s Students:

Age ≤ 35 at enrollment;

Chinese-taught programs: minimum HSK Level 5.

English-taught programs: valid official English proficiency certificate.

5.Doctoral Students:

Age ≤ 40 at enrollment;

Chinese-taught programs: minimum HSK Level 5.

English-taught programs: valid official English proficiency certificate.

Note: Scholarships are awarded competitively based on comprehensive evaluation, including the reputation of previous institutions, academic performance, competition awards, and research achievements.

IV. Application Method

Submit an online application and pay the application fee at:

Undergraduate applicants are required to take the CSCA examination.

VI. Required Application Documents

1.Complete the online application form and pay the application fee at:

onlineapply.ustb.edu.cn

2.Notarized degree certificates (senior high school, bachelor’s, master’s) in Chinese or English.Current graduating students may submit a pre-graduation certificate or enrollment certificate. Official degree certificate must be provided after graduation to confirm enrollment.

3.Notarized academic transcripts (bachelor’s, master’s) in Chinese or English, showing all courses, GPA/average score, and grading scale.

4.Personal statement (including research proposal for graduate applicants):

Master’s: ≥ 1000 words

Doctoral: ≥ 1500 words

in Chinese or English.

5.Two recommendation letters from professors or associate professors; at least one referee should be familiar with the applicant’s major.

6.Language proficiency score report:

a. Chinese-taught programs:

Undergraduate: HSK 4 or above

Master’s & Doctoral: HSK 5 or above

b. English-taught programs:

Undergraduate: IELTS Academic ≥ 5.5 or TOEFL ≥ 70, or other official English certificate

Master’s & Doctoral: IELTS Academic ≥ 6.0 or TOEFL ≥ 80, or other official English certificate

7.Copy of valid ordinary passport (valid until after September 2026).

8.Physical examination record (valid within 6 months).

9.Non-criminal record certificate (valid within 3 months).

10.Supervisor acceptance letter (optional; recommended to contact supervisors in advance).

11.List and abstracts of published academic papers, or other original research achievements (if any).

12.Undergraduate applicants must provide a valid CSCA score report.
